This chair was inspired by the Lounge Collection created by US designer Florence Knoll to have a spare, angular profile that reflects the objective perfectionism of modern design. As a pioneer of the Knoll Planning Unit, Florence Knoll modestly called these pieces the "fill-in pieces that no one else wants to do." We absolutely love this design for it's clean lines and comfort.
Our version of the Florence Knoll chair reproduction is offered in 100% aniline-dyed Italian leather or a wide selection of wool fabrics. The legs and frame are made of stainless steel square tubing polished to a mirror finish. Each chair is handmade using modern furniture construction techniques, including hardwood box frames, mitered corners, HR (High Resilient), Multi-Density Foam for superb seat comfort and durability. Our back cushions are angled on the bottom to keep them in place. Our construction techniques provide a solid chair perfect for commercial and residential applications.

Our standard leathers are full-grain, 100% aniline-dyed, corrected with a slight embossing. We do not use split hides leather. Leather thickness is generally 1.0 - 1.2 mm depending on application of seating component for stretching and tailoring the upholstery design and condition.

Below are the swatches of the Premium leather colors we offer for the Bauhaus, L’Epirit Nouveau and Mid-Century Modern Collestions. There is generally a 12% up-charge for all Premium Leathers. Our Premium leathers are full-grain, 100% aniline-dyed. Our Premium grade leathers have a soft feel to them and much of the hides natural grain patterns are retained. They are also a little shinier than the Standard Leather. Premium leather thickness is generally the same the standard leather: 1.0 - 1.2 mm depending on application of seating component for stretching and tailoring the upholstery design and condition. We now offer an extensive collection of fabric colors in a variety of yarn compositions. Our selection is particularily suited for the mid-century modern furniture we make, in that they include bright colors with texture woven weaves. These fabrics are offered in three grade levels or price points. We have arranged these swatches in color groups, with grade level shown. We are happy to mail you a physical piece of fabric so you can hold it in your hands, just give a call or e-mail us. If you don't see what you want below, are happy to customize your furniture to your exact fabric requirement. If you have a specific fabric in mind, we can either order it or we can use your supplied fabric, in either case, we need to approve the fabric to ensure it can be applied to the specific peice of furniture.
