The Chair 45 was created in 1945 for the Cabinetmakers Guild and began Juhl's signature method of freeing the seat and back from the chair frame. This is now known as the Carrying Element.

This beautiful chair is meticulously handcrafted of solid hardwood using fine furniture construction techniques such as full internal mortise and tenon joints on the arms, memory foam on the seat cushion, and 14 step finishing commercial grade finishing process.

LEATHER CHOICES

Modern Classics Furniture offers two levels of premium Top-Grain Italian Leathers for this product (Smooth and Distressed). Our Smooth leathers are top-grain, aniline-dyed, have a soft feel to them and retains the hides natural grain patterns. Our Distressed Leathers (denoted with the prefix L5) are also top-grain, aniline-dyed but have a distressed look to them. L5 leathers will show rubbings and have a more waxy feel. Each of the these groupings feature:
  • Top-grain Italian leather from Grade A hides
  • Semi aniline-dyed
  • Made at Italian tanneries and sent to our factory
  • Have a UV and Moisture Guard built into the non-toxic vegetable dyes
  • Are not split hides or bonded leather
