Mid-Century Modern Benches

We offer two styles of Mies van der Rohe benchs. First, is our Exhibition Benches, which were inspired by the design of popular Mies van der Rohe Bench first shown at the Spanish Exposition in 1928, also known as the Barcelona Bench. Our benches are made with top-grain, Italian leather. Our wood frames are made of thick, solid ash and can be finished in one of five colors. The frames are supported with durable stainless steel legs and two curved SS bars underneath. There are 3 sizes in this collecion. The second style is the Expo Bench, which mimics the design of the Barcelona Stool, just offered in three widths.

George Nelson was, together with Charles & Ray Eames, one of the founding fathers of American modernism. Nelson is sometimes thought of as "The Creator of Beautiful and Practical Things". The Nelson style slat bench is no exception.

This bench was created by George Nelson in 1947. This bench is an icon for Mid-Century modernism. This classic bench is greatly used as a table or accent piece for the foot of a bed. The Nelson style bench is a timeless design. Much like Nelson’s other furniture designs, the platform bench uses clean lines making it perfect with any decor. Our Nelson style bench comes in three sizes: 48-inch, 60-inch and 72 inch lengths.
