This is a new product for us, inspired by the popular Mies van der Rohe Barcelona Footstool introduced and made famous during the 1929 Universal Exhibition in Barcelona, Spain.
Our Expo Ottoman is a wider version of our Exhibition Footstool, which can be used instead of the standard footstool. This model is as wide as the exhibition chair. Shown here with Terra Brown leather, our frame is constructed from premium grade solid bar stock stainless steel. All joints are fully welded, sealed, and seamless. The frame is hand-polished to a mirror-like finish. The wide version of our footstool is 4.5" wider than the standard footstool, you can see a side-by-side comparison in the photos. Four belts with buckle attach the cushion to the frame.
The cushion surfaces consist of 20 individual top-grain leather panels; each piece is cut and hand-sewn using a handrolled welting technique not found in other versions on the market. The seat cushions is filled with high resilient - high density polyurethane foam that is CAL117 flame test rated. The cushion is supported by leather straps riveted to the frame and whose top and side edges match upholstery color. The cushion corners have no exposed seams.
