In 1968, Sigurd Ressell became the chief designer for Norwegian furniture company Vatne, and his seminal Falcon Chair (1970) soon followed. Originally, the hammock-like chair was produced with a chrome frame, but was redesigned with a lighter laminated base in 1974 for easier distribution. This is a wonderful addition to any art deco home, or the modern contemporary home.
Our Falcon Chair was inspired by the original steel frame version with some important distinctions. First, we use 12mm #304 Stainless Steel flat bar that has been polished to a mirror-like like finish. We use heavy canvas for the hammock effect. Italian Leather and a combination of foam and feathers are in each cushion. Finally, we increased the back seat height to provide comfort for tall people, so they can sit back and relax in style.
