Hans Wegner's "CH-33 Chair" is one of the most recognizable furniture pieces from the Scandinavian Modern Movement.  This chair sits well, is spacious and allows its user to change position. The back offers good support and most people feel comfortable in it for a long period of time. The curved top rail makes it easy to move around and though the arm rests are long enough to give adequate support to your forearms, the chair can still be pushed in close to a table.

Our chair is made of solid ash and uses mortise and tenon joints for a sturdy result. A mortise and tenon joint is a strong and stable way to connect two pieces of wood, usually at a 90-degree angle. It's made up of two parts: a mortise, which is a hole, and a tenon, which is a tongue that fits into the mortise.

Modern Classics Furniture offers three levels of Top-Grain Italian Leathers for this product (Standand, Smooth and Distressed). Our Standard Leathers (denoted with the prefix L1) are top-grain, aniline-dyed, and then color corrected with a slight embossing to create a more uniform grain pattern. Our Smooth leathers are top-grain, semi-aniline-dyed, have a soft feel to them and retains the hides natural grain patterns. Our Distressed Leathers (denoted with the prefix L5) are also top-grain, semi-aniline-dyed but have a distressed look to them. L5 leathers will show rubbings and have a more waxy feel. Each of the these groupings feature:
  • Top-grain Italian leather from Grade A hides
  • Corrected aniline-dyed (standard) and semi-aniline dyed (premium and distressed)
  • Made at Italian tanneries and sent to our factory
  • Have a UV and Moisture Guard built into the non-toxic vegetable dyes
  • Are not split hides or bonded leather
