Ottomans and Footstools

Our Exhibition Footstool was inspired by the Mies van der Rohe footstool known the world over as the "Barcelona Stool." All joints are fully welded, sealed, and seamless. The frame is hand-polished to a mirror-like finish. The geometry of the frame is accurate to the Mies van der Rohe original design. Four belts with buckle attach the cushion to the frame.

One of the most influential of 20th century architects, Chareli-Edouard Jeanneret, who chose to be know as "Le Corbusier”, was also responsible for some of the Modern Movements best-known furniture. In this category are his classics known as LC2 and LC3 Ottoman We use high gauge tubular stainless steel on each frame. The frame is polished to a mirror-like finish with mitered frame corners ground to a soft radius. Besides the polished frame, we also offer 4 colors of metallic powder coated finishes, or choose your own! We use top-grain, aniline-dyed leather on all visible cushion surfaces. Inside each cushion is high density, HR (High Resilient), Multi-Density polyurethane foam surrounded by Dacron batting. On the LC2 seat cushion, there is a layer of goose down/feathers on the seat top. On the LC3, the seat cushion has an extra layer of Dacron fiberfill. The LC3-relaxed uses both foam and goose down/feathers on the seat cushions.

This Ottoman Collection was inspired by the Lounge Collection created by US designer Florence Knoll (1917-2018) to have a spare, angular profile that reflects the objective perfectionism of modern design. As a pioneer of the Knoll Planning Unit, Florence Knoll modestly called these pieces the "fill-in pieces that no one else wants to do." We absolutely love this design for it's clean lines and comfort. Offered in a wide selection of leather and fabric colors, this collection is great for the living room or office setting.

Warren Platner, who worked in the firms of Eero Saarinen and Kevin Roche in the early and mid-1960's, introduced his collection of chairs, ottomans tables in 1966. Known as the "Platner Collection", each piece rests on a sculptural base of nickel-plated steel rods resembling a shiny sheaf of wheat. Platner designed both the structure and the production method for these designs, forming his primary contribution to the mid-century modern furniture movement and is still an enduring icon of 1960's Modernism. We offer a couple of different styles for the platner collection.
